Is the First Amendment Protected by the BLM Protests?

What is Really Going on During the BLM Protests? Is it Protected by First Amendment?

The Black Lives Matter movement is about protesting against police brutality and violence against people of color. Black Lives Matter has become a popular topic within the year of 2020 due to the attention it is receiving from the news and society. However, aren't these protests suppose to be peaceful and to benefit black people? Well, the answer should be yes but looking at what is happening to the Country makes people think differently about this movement. Rioting, looting, setting buildings and stores on fire is not peaceful protesting and will not be protected by anyone's First Amendment right. If it was peaceful protests without any harmful actions, then the protests would be protected, however; that is not the case.

The First Amendment contains six clauses which are freedom from religion, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of assembly, and freedom to petition. People have the individual freedom to peacefully protest and speak about anything they choose of, but when it becomes violent, that is when the line is drawn. This online source, Tucker Carlson BLM is Political, shows the pubic that the BLM movement is not about helping people of color anymore, it is mainly about politics. In a sense, this organization, containing Antifa members, wants to control citizens and act like a political party, however; police brutality is not political at all. The BLM movement has a great and understanding idea behind it that being to protect people of color from discriminatory violence, but the actions most supporters and protesters do are abusing their First Amendment right.

Below is a picture that represents a business, not to mention a Black-owned business, that is burning to the ground by a member of Antifa who is controlling this movement.

This picture represents members of this organization setting cop cars on fire. Does this really prove peaceful protesting? Or the initial meaning behind BLM?
